Parent Code of Conduct
This Parent Code of Conduct establishes clear expectations to ensure a safe, respectful, and positive environment for all participants, coaches, officials, volunteers, and families.
By registering a participant with The Dolton Bears, all parents and guardians agree to comply with the following policies.
EXPECTATIONS OF PARENTS & GUARDIANS
Parents and guardians are expected to:
Promote good sportsmanship at all times
Encourage athletes positively and respectfully
Respect all players, coaches, officials, volunteers, and spectators
Model appropriate behavior on and off the field
COACHING AUTHORITY
Coaches are responsible for instruction, discipline, and game decisions
Parents may not interfere with coaching decisions during practices or games
Coaching concerns should be addressed respectfully and at appropriate times
OFFICIALS & LEAGUE REPRESENTATIVES
Officials’ decisions are final
Parents may not confront, harass, or argue with officials or league representatives
Disputes must be handled through proper league communication channels
SIDELINE & EVENT CONDUCT
Parents and spectators must:
Remain in designated spectator areas
Refrain from entering the field, court, or performance area unless authorized
Follow all facility and league rules
The use of alcohol, tobacco, vaping products, or illegal substances at practices, games, or events is strictly prohibited.
SPECTATOR REMOVAL POLICY
To maintain a safe environment, The Dolton Bears reserves the right to remove any parent, guardian, or spectator from any practice, game, competition, or event for behavior deemed inappropriate, disruptive, or unsafe.
Grounds for Immediate Removal Include (but are not limited to):
Verbal abuse, taunting, or harassment
Threatening behavior or intimidation
Profanity or aggressive language
Interference with coaches, officials, or league operations
Unauthorized entry onto the field or performance area
Possession or use of prohibited substances
Removal may occur without warning at the discretion of league officials.
DISCIPLINE ESCALATION POLICY
The organization may take disciplinary action as outlined below. Depending on severity, steps may be skipped.
Step 1 — Verbal Warning
Issued by a coach or league representative
Documented internally
Step 2 — Removal From Event
Parent or spectator must immediately leave the facility
Failure to comply may result in suspension
Step 3 — Suspension From Attendance
Parent or spectator prohibited from attending future events for a defined period
Child may continue participation if another responsible adult is present
Step 4 — Removal From Program
Parent and child may be removed from the program
No refund will be issued
SEVERE MISCONDUCT
Severe or repeated violations may result in immediate suspension or removal without prior warning. Law enforcement may be contacted when appropriate.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT
Agreement to this Parent Code of Conduct, Spectator Removal Policy, and Discipline Escalation Policy is required during registration. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action, including removal from participation without refund.
